Original Artworks

G-West Study by David Rae
£450.00

G-West Study depicts the abandoned clubhouse construction at G-West, a "ghost" golf course next to Gleneagles resort which began construction but never reached completion. It is a subject Rae has been planning to explore for some time.

  • Original, one of one

  • Signed

  • Acrylic on canvas, 30 × 40 cm

  • Framed in oak, 31 × 41 cm overall

Born in 1995 and raised in South-West Scotland, David Rae studied Painting at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen between 2013 and 2017. Following his degree show, he was selected to show in the 2018 RSA New Contemporaries, where he won both the Walter Scott and the David and June Gordon Memorial Trust Awards.

Rae is part of a growing interest in the possibility of unspoken narratives through realism and subtraction. His paintings offer a remarkable sense of space through the realistic rendition of textures and perspective. Behind this curtain of reality, figureless, empty spaces suggest an uneasy absence.

The resulting imagery has connotations of an unfinished story or a hidden truth, a simple device to incite curiosity. Rae's work suggestively imitates the beauty of human and natural environments while maintaining a stillness that is both disquieting and analytical.

Before the Fall by Mark Purves
£450.00

Before the Fall started from a memory of playing snooker and watching the ball reach the rounded edge of the pocket, just before it drops and disappears. I was interested in that small moment of suspension, where the ball seems to sit between being there and being gone.

I wanted to hold onto that moment but remove it from the table. The yellow ball rests within the deep red, with the light and shadow giving it a strange sense of distance. There's a suggestion of something familiar beyond the game, but I wanted that to remain just out of reach.

  • Original, one of one

  • Signed

  • Carved Styrofoam, spray paint and snooker ball, 30 × 40 cm

  • Framed in oak, 31 × 41 cm overall

Mark Purves (born 22 February 1982, Edinburgh, Scotland) creates paintings that challenge the traditional flatness of the painted surface. With a background in sculpture, his practice combines painting with embedded objects such as marble spheres, chandelier droplets and found materials, blurring the boundary between image and object.

Working from photographs and collected imagery, Purves explores absence, memory and perception through layered surfaces. He transforms common human movements into a psychological space, revealing the tensions and intentions hidden beneath familiar social behaviours.

Orsay 88 by Roddy Macneill
£450.00

Orsay 88 alludes to the island of Orsay just off the coast of Portnahaven, Islay. Over the course of many summers looking out to Orsay I imagined what went on there at the tiny beach and towering lighthouse. 1988 was the first time I actually visited the island and this piece is an expressionistic abstraction of the atmosphere I experienced travelling there on a glass-bottomed boat and exploring the coastline and lighthouse buildings.

  • Original, one of one

  • Signed

  • Acrylic, oil and glue on canvas, 30 × 40 cm

  • Framed in oak, 31 × 41 cm overall

Roddy lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland. Having studied graphic design at Glasgow School of Art he has gone on to pursue a career as an abstract artist, making works that investigate colour, form and texture.

Enlightened by time spent outdoors, examining patterns and textures found in both nature and the urban environment, Roddy's mixed-media works reveal a heightened awareness of his surroundings. Interested in the visible effects of time, using a range of materials and methods, Roddy replicates weathered surfaces like rusty metal, peeling paint, and sun-bleached wood. He says, "It is freeing not being fully interested in the result but more the process.

Watching u, Watching me by Kidd Murray
£450.00

In watching u, watching me, a butterfly with luscious locks meets the viewer’s gaze while hiding behind a vibrant flower petal. Unsure whether she wants to be seen, she remains wary of the viewer’s gaze, torn between the allure of visibility and the comfort of anonymity.

  • Original, one of one

  • Signed

  • Oil on canvas, 30 × 40 cm

  • Framed in oak, 31 × 41 cm overall

Kidd Murray is a visual artist from Glasgow who graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2017 with an Honours degree in Painting and Printmaking. Their work explores the human experience through themes of self-discovery, growth, beauty and identity. Through the symbolism of butterflies and caterpillars, Murray challenges traditional notions of beauty and questions the male gaze.

Kidd Murray’s most recent body of work explores identity, femininity, self-discovery, and the impact of societal pressures and expectations. Murray uses the symbolism of the butterfly, with its connotations of beauty, perfection and metamorphosis, to explore these ideas.

Gossamer Dawn by Liam Richardson
£450.00

In Gossamer Dawn, a crude structure, haphazardly nailed together, is inhabited by spider webs. Where our construction is laboured and imperfect, the webs are effortless and precise. The piece sets the human compulsion to build against the quiet beauty of simplicity.

  • Original, one of one

  • Signed

  • Acrylic, glitter, screen print and spray paint on canvas, 30 × 40 cm

  • Additional found objects on artist's frame, 31 × 41 cm overall

Liam Richardson (b. Edinburgh, 1985) lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland. His practice explores assemblage, automatism, and a variety of processes, such as printmaking, sculpture, and collage. In 2024, he opened Squeeze Print Studio, an open-access screen-printing studio located in Govan.

"My work looks at the gap between the natural world and our efforts to recreate it, efforts that often result in clumsy approximations."

Evidence of Elsewhere by David Iain Brown
£450.00

Evidence of Elsewhere explores the idea of somewhere, nowhere and elsewhere, a place that feels both familiar and impossible to locate, existing somewhere between memory and imagination. Layers of painterly marks build channels, ridges and shifting structures across the canvas, creating a surface that suggests a landscape without defining a specific place.

Gestural pink lines move through these layers like paths or routes, connecting fragments and drawing the eye across the surface. The work becomes a kind of map to somewhere undefined, a place that could be anywhere, if looked at closely enough.

  • Original, one of one

  • Signed

  • Oil on canvas, 30 × 40 cm

  • Framed in oak, 31 × 41 cm overall

David Iain Brown is a Glasgow-based artist whose practice navigates the space between painting, process, and material transformation. A graduate of Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen (BA Hons, MA Fine Art), Brown began in printmaking before shifting toward an expanded approach to painting.

Working with the residue of the studio (torn rags, old works, and salvaged textiles), he constructs layered abstract compositions that foreground process as both subject and method. His work is driven by cycles of destruction and renewal, where materials are continuously reworked and recontextualised.

Walking Lochnager by Tatjana Fraser
£450.00

This painting's composition was taken from an analogue photograph a close friend of mine had taken during one of our walks at Lochnagar. I remember the day well: the walking paths were dry and crunched below our feet. We ran down the mountain once having reached the peak, the wind was flowing with us, which made us feel as though we were flying.

The pigment ochre used in this painting was harvested from a landslide in my local area of Kintail and I was very surprised to find such a burnt orange colour as I broke into the stone with the mortar and pestle; a similar colour to that of the pigment colours I previously discovered in Australia.

  • Original, one of one

  • Signed

  • Oil and found pigment on canvas, 30 × 40 cm

  • Framed in oak, 31 × 41 cm overall

Tatjana Fraser lives and paints between Glasgow and the Highlands of Scotland. Growing up in Kintail, beneath the towering presence of the Five Sisters and surrounded by the vast, sweeping glens of Skye of Lochalsh, she has always felt a deep, inescapable pull toward the land. It is here, within this wild, untamed landscape, that she finds both her inspiration and the very materials with which to create.

"My work emerges from experiences in natural spaces, where walking becomes a quiet act of connection. Moving through the landscape, the body follows paths that often lead toward the unknown. Each painting carries me back to a place, a memory, a fleeting moment where time feels suspended. These moments live within the paths, the stones, and the pigments of the soil beneath our feet."

Notes

Under the Willows by Lorna Sinclair
£450.00

Under the Willows captures a fleeting moment just before midnight in my mum's garden, where the arched willow tree was blowing wildly in the wind, and falling leaves mark the first sign of Autumn. Under a starry sky, something as ordinary as taking the dogs out at night transforms the garden into a magical, mysterious place. The wind bustling against the plants and flowers gives them a life of their own, as if they are dancing and in conversation with each other. The change of light and seasons means the same garden I spend so much time in never loses its awe and sense of magic, something I tried to capture in this leafy painting.

  • Original, one of one

  • Signed

  • Oil on canvas, 30 × 40 cm

  • Framed in oak, 31 × 41 cm overall

Lorna Sinclair (b. 1994) is a Scottish artist currently living and working in Glasgow. Graduating in Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (2017), Lorna has since exhibited work across Europe and the UK, whilst recently completing Art Residencies in Costa Rica and Portugal.

Lorna's most recent solo show, 'Where No Storms Come', opened at Birnam Arts Centre, Perth, in the summer of 2026, a show featuring magical night landscapes.

About the Artist

Tatjana Fraser lives and paints between Glasgow and the Highlands of Scotland. Growing up in Kintail, beneath the towering presence of the Five Sisters and surrounded by the vast glens of Skye of Lochalsh, the landscape has remained a constant and deeply rooted source of inspiration within her practice.

Fraser's work emerges from experiences in natural spaces, where walking becomes a quiet act of connection with the land. Through movement and exploration, she considers the relationship between body, landscape and memory, often drawing on the paths, stones, earth and pigments encountered along the way.

Each painting acts as a vessel for these experiences — holding traces of particular places and fleeting moments where time feels suspended. About the Artist

Mandy Leonard is a contemporary abstract artist whose practice is driven by experimentation, movement and materiality. Describing herself as an "alchemist", she is inspired as much by the surfaces she paints on as the materials she paints with, embracing their unpredictable and reactive qualities.

Music and movement play a central role in her creative process. Working intuitively around the canvas and often using different parts of her body as painting tools, Leonard creates expressive works that are rich in physicality, emotion and connection. Her practice is guided by curiosity and a desire to leave room for the unexpected, allowing each painting to evolve through discovery rather than control.

Hair features heavily throughout Murray's recent painting series, drawing on the traditions of the Old Masters while exploring its deeper relationship to identity and femininity. In these works, hair becomes a reminder of the inevitable relationship between growth and letting go.

Murray's anthropomorphic representations explore the delicate balance between vulnerability and strength, as well as the interplay between masculine and feminine energies.
